Biography
A lifelong athlete, Laura Reback Bennett started swimming when she was 12 and hasn’t looked back since. She ran track in high school and continued competitive swimming at Southern Methodist University, where she earned her Bachelor degree in Finance in 1997.
Laura first competed on the International Triathlon Union (ITU) Racing circuit in 2001. In 2003 she earned a silver medal at the World Triathlon Championships and then took bronze in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
With a win at the Beijing 2007 trials, Laura was the first American to qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics, where she placed 4th. She is aiming to return to the games this year.
Laura splits her time between Boulder and Australia and is married to Olympic Triathlete Greg Bennett.
